quality of life in la county
Nurturing collective impact through the Portrait of Los Angeles County Project.
Leveraging investments from multiple local private and public funders, this project works to improve opportunity and well-being for all LA County residents by reducing inequities across health, education, and economic outcomes. Wold and Associates works with LA County stakeholders and Measure of America to provide targeted outreach and strategy development including presentations to multiple audiences, development of communication materials, and facilitated explorations of data, to support cross-sector interventions. Portrait of LA County report can be accessed here.
evaluation and learning
Conducting research and evaluations.
We partner with foundations on research, planning, and evaluations. We specialize in small to medium scale projects focused on innovative practices. For example, we evaluated the process and impact of integrating behavioral and mental health care in prenatal and pediatric care settings; another project seeks to understand the potential for patient-focused mobile applications to improve the prenatal care process and birth outcomes. Other evaluations focused on early childhood, such as programs to expand access to high quality child care and early developmental supports.
Supporting investments early in the life course investments.
The County of Los Angeles County, First 5 LA, and multiple community agencies are involved with implementing a countywide Prevention Plan designed to strengthen families and reduce child maltreatment and involvement with the child welfare system. Wold and Associates supports these efforts with data analysis, recommendations, and insights designed to strengthen community networks, improve access and deployment of early care and education resources, and measure and evaluate the impact of prevention on child and family well being. Learn more about the County’s Prevention Plan.
putting data to work
Enabling linkage and analytics.
Wold and Associates works with large and small agencies to improve their ability to use data they already collect. For example, we partnered to advance data linkage and analytics for a large provider of subsidized child care. This work helped facilitate greater systems alignment, policy development, and advocacy.
innovation for social impact
Advancing innovative, collaborative solutions for prevention.
Wold and Associates partners with leaders who shape collective impact. Examples of projects include work with USC Children’s Data Network to launch a series of snapshots featuring cross-sector collaboration to advance primary prevention of child maltreatment. Other work with the California HealthCare Foundation helped to identify practices and use cases related to sharing data among large public agencies. Wold and Associates helped Maternal Mental Health NOW! develop and launch an online, searchable resource directory that helps providers and patients connect.
Cheryl partners with an extensive network of dedicated professionals and change makers. She maintains a small suite of projects to assure attention to and focus on client needs.
